Yan Jun Won the Baccarat Competition in Macau

On October 29th, 2007, a salesperson from Mainland China became a baccarat champion when he won HK$15 million in a Macau baccarat competition.

Yan Jun from the province of Hubei and who often visits the former colony, edged out eight other players to win the top prize. The competition gave out HK$20 million in total prize cash. Five of the contestants in the competition were from China while the other players are from Hong Kong, Macau, the United States and the Netherlands.

The player from Hong Kong, Edward Ng Wing Biu, finished in the 4th place. Yan Jun said that you have to wager aggressively in a baccarat game especially during a tournament. Baccarat is one of the most in demand casino games all over the world. A lot of Asian players like to play baccarat compared to casino games like poker, blackjack, roulette and others.

Players in the tournament had HK$100,000 as their principal for the final game. The HK$500,000 came out of their own pocket and the remaining money was given by the organizers. Thousands of people participated in the event according to the organizers.
