Mount Airy to Open New Asian Gaming Room

The introduction of casino table games in Pennsylvania in the summer will also bring an entirely new set of costumers and opportunity for the Mount Airy casino. CEO Lisa DeNaples said on May 10th, 2010 that the Asian player base is growing steadily and they like certain casino games compared with slot machines.

Mount Airy will offer casino games like baccarat and mini-baccarat, which Asian players, particularly Chinese gamers, love to play compared with other casino table games. Betty Ann DeNaples and interior decorator Marcella Ravell make up the design team of Mount Airy.

Both women just returned from a trip to the Chinatown of New York City, where they look for fabrics and designs that will fit their new Asian gaming room. The number of potential Asian gamers is big because of Mount Airy's proximity to states of New Jersey and New York.

Lisa DeNaples said that it is a significant market because playing baccarat, mini-baccarat and other Asian-themed games is their form of entertainment. The casino facility is doing everything to make sure that Asian players will feel at home at Mount Airy Casino.

It recently hired two Asian player development hosts fluent in their languages. Part of the facility's buffet will also be change into a noodle bar with Asian chefs, adjacent to the new Asian gaming room.

The design of the room will also feature dragons and cranes, which are both considered lucky in Asian culture. The facility also hired experienced baccarat dealers from Asian game rooms in Atlantic City and Connecticut. Many of the casino supervisors will also be fluent in the Vietnamese and Chinese language.

Lisa DeNaples said that they believe that with these changes, they will attract a bigger number of Asian visitors compared in the past few years.
