Seminole Tribe to Offer Baccarat and other Casino Table Games

On December 26th, 2007, the Seminole Indians and Gov. Charlie Crist of the State of Florida have accomplished an agreement allowing residents of the state to play baccarat and blackjack at seven casino facilities managed by the Seminole Tribe in Florida.

The gambling compact, which is for 25 years, is the long awaited answer to the request of some individuals to have baccarat and blackjack in the state. Under the new gambling compact, the Seminole Indian tribe has the right to host the game in their seven casino facilities in the state.

The Seminoles are also allowed to offer baccarat and blackjack in their casinos in Florida. The tribe is also allowed to offer Las Vegas style slot machines. The gambling compact also requires the Seminole tribe to pay Florida with $50 million.

Regarding expected profit, the Seminole tribe has also consented to save up to 25% of their predicted yearly profits from the slot machines and casino table card games and give them to Florida. There has been a lot of opposition to the gambling compact particularly from the House of Representatives and the Senate. Speaker Marco Rubio said that Gov. Crist should have asked their opinion regarding the matter.
